Rights Respecting Schools, 1.4.2022

Here's an overview of this week's Rights Respecting School news...

As a school we have worked extremely hard this half term to learn about our rights and start reflecting on how we can support our learners to understand and access them.  The children in Ducking’s and Zebras class have been using their right to express their views when choosing healthy foods as well as their right to be listened to and have their views taken seriously. They have enjoyed using their PECs books to support their communication of these choices to their class teams. Wallabies have enjoyed a lovely relaxing sensory foot spa this week as part of their learning around children’s right to relax – how lucky of them! You can see from the photograph just how much they enjoyed the water tickling their feet.  Our steering group have been busy this week placing posters around school and learning about children’s right to have a voice, to be listened to and to be taken seriously. We have role played a variety of situations to demonstrate when this might not happen and we look forward to sharing them with you all on our weekly social media update which will commence after half term.

Have a lovely half term break!
