Rights Respecting School News, 24.5.22
Here's an overview of this week's Rights Respecting School news...
It has been another exciting week in school with every minute of the day focussing on supporting our learners to access their different universal rights as children. Meerkats class have had lots of laughs and giggles clowning around as part of their focused topic work, combining their right to education (article 28) with their right to play (article 31). Elephant’s have enjoyed accessing and learning about information in the media by receiving a very special letter off the ‘Queen’ in preparation for next week’s whole school jubilee celebrations – they even enjoyed some tasty biscuits shapes liked crowns. They have also been busy refreshing their class charter display. Our wilderness intervention group had a great adventure down in Healy Dell, where they practiced following instructions whilst blindfolded. Many of our learners have also been taking part in their Annual Review process and meetings. This is very important, as it supports our learner’s rights to have their voices heard (article 13) and for their views to be respected and acted upon (article12) Have a lovely weekend Kirstie and the RRS steering group
