World Down's Syndrome Day

FRIDAY 22nd MARCH 2019

Celebrating World Down’s Syndrome Day 2019

Rock Your Socks to School

Dear Parents and Carers,

World Down’s Syndrome Day is celebrated each year and we will be taking part on Friday 22nd March. This year we’ll be joining in by holding a Rock Your Socks to School Day.

In exchange for a donation of £1, learners are asked to wear colourful, mismatched socks to School as funky socks have become an emblem for Down’s Syndrome throughout the world.

All monies raised will be donated to DSWestPennineReg Charity 1140539,a local charity that helps children and young people with Down’s Syndrome to achieve their potential.

On Monday we will be introducing our learners to this through a whole school Assembly to raise awareness and understanding of this condition.

In return for participating in this event, children will receive a free giant Gingerbread Sock Biscuit as a thank you from the Charity.

Please be aware, if your child has an allergy or special dietary requirements, that the Gingerbread Sock Biscuits contain dairy products, eggs and gluten, and may also contain traces of peanut.

Thank you in advance for your support.
