Care and Control

Within our school community we develop and promote a happy, safe and secure environment.  We recognise and reward achievement’s, including the rewarding of good behaviour.  We recognise each learner is an individual and thus each individual learner's behaviour is developed accordingly.

If you have any concerns regarding the behaviour of your child or another learner please contact your child’s class teacher in the first instance.  If a learner is at risk of hurting themselves or others, or if the behaviour of a learner seriously disrupts good order in school or causes damage to property, staff may need to physically intervene.

Most staff who work alongside learners in the Exploratory and Investigative Phase are qualified in the ‘Team Teach’ approach, a nationally recognised and British Institute of Conflict Management (ICM) accredited training package that includes positive handling strategies in addition to verbal and non-verbal de-escalation and behaviour support.
