Early Years Foundation Stage

Within our Early Years department we have two classes - Ducklings and Chicks. Within this department we have learners with a range of needs. Early Years really is a special place to learn. Our approach encapsulates the needs of 'the whole child' and their families aiming to teach the widest variety of skills our special little people need to live a full and active life: enjoying achieving and learning together. As well as teaching topics from the Early Years Curriculum, delivered in a highly differentiated ways, we also work positively to develop a full range of life skills delivered through highly specialised and individualised programmes.

These can be programmes relating to Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Feeding, Toileting, Independence, Sensory input, Forest Schools, Bike riding, Hydrotherapy and Swimming sessions. Through discussions with our families we work together to produce the best outcomes achievable for each and every learner. The Phase lead for this Phase is Sarah Trueman.
