Key Stage 1 Spring Term

Class 4 - We have had a wonderful time investigating the topic ’Spring has Sprung’. We have visited  various garden centres in order to look at the different plants, trees and flowers. Pupils have been taking care of their garden during Science lessons and planting beans and seeds. We hope to attract lots of insects so that we can go on a ’Mini-beast’ hunt next term. In Maths we have been focusing on ’measures’ when we have used our hands and feet to find out how long/high things are. We have applied this to our P.E sessions when we have measured how far we can jump/travel. ’Red Nose Day’ was lots of fun and we enjoyed making and eating ’Funny Face Pizzas’. We loved having the fluffy chicks in our classroom and some of us were brave enough to give them a little stroke.

Have an ’egg-citing’ Easter! Love Class 4 x

Class 5 - Spring has officially sprung! Class 5 have been learning all about the changes that are happening around us as Spring begins. In Science lessons we have been learning about plants and growth. We have enjoyed exploring seeds and beans then planting them and watching them grow.

We have also taken our learning outside the classroom—making and hanging butterfly and bird foods in the trees around school. We have  also been out on the bus visiting our local parks to look for signs of Spring.

In English lessons we have enjoyed flying on our magic carpet to visit spectacular places like China and India. In Maths lessons we have been learning about Class 5’s favourite toys and food and recording this data on pictograms.

Class 5 have particularly enjoyed the fun days this term which included Funny Face Day for Comic Relief where we made silly face cakes and biscuits and going on an Easter egg hunt with Class   4.

Have an ‘egg-cellent’ Easter holiday! See you in the Summer term!
