The Meerkats have had a very busy and exciting start to the autumn term. All the children have settled really well in their new class and have come back happy, full of enthusiasm and ready to learn! We have really enjoyed our topic ‘What a Wonderful World’. In Geography, we focused on Amazing Africa.
We had fun dressing up in traditional clothes and danced to the rhythm of African drums. We looked at wild animals and talked about their patterns. In Science, we have been investigating sounds and vibrations through lots of practical experiments. We have also explored sounds in Literacy during our sensory story ‘Peace at Last’.
We made the most of the gorgeous weather and enjoyed our bus trips to Hebden Bridge and most recently Queens Park which was the perfect opportunity for a lovely Autumn walk. We have worked really hard and are now ready for a well-deserved break.
What a busy Summer Term! We had a fantastic time on our trip to St Anne’s and had lots of fun playing on the beach. It was the perfect ending to a fun-packed and successful year in the Meerkats class.
This half term, as part of our ‘Great Outdoors’ topic, we have been learning about different kinds of plants. We have observed them closely and identified their parts.
We have enjoyed our sensory story ‘Dog’s colorful day’ and we had fun getting messy with chocolate and jam! We have worked really hard this year and we are now ready for a well-deserved Summer break! All the staff from the Meerkats class wish you a lovely holiday.
