It has been a great first half term in Penguin Class. We have been looking at sorting by shape or colour and counting objects to 5 in Maths. In English we have been reading our sensory stories ‘Gran’s Visit’ and ‘Hot Air Balloon’ then trying to match the words or symbols to the image. We are very proud of our hard work!
Our topic this term is ‘Our World’ so we have visited several areas around Rochdale and created a map of important places. We also thought about how to help keep these places clean and safe by litter-picking and recycling. We have been busy this last week creating things to sell at our ‘up-cycling’ fair.
Our final half term together has been filled with lasting memories and friendships. We have celebrated Eid, the Olympics and the ‘Great Outdoors’ together. Our class trips have been wonderful and we particularly enjoyed our full day trip to Lytham St. Anne's where we played in the sand and ate fish, chips and ice-cream.
As a class the children have made amazing progress in their learning and also in their confidence, kindness and caring. We have had a fantastic year together and the staff wish the best for our children changing classes here at Springside and moving on to Redwood.
Goodbye and good luck to Abdul, Awais and Rahi who are joining Redwood in September.
