Spring Term Blog

What an exciting half term! Early years have been busy changing their classroom and have seen the introduction of a brand new sand pit. The children have had lots of fun exploring the sand with their shoes on or off! We loved ‘Messy Morning’ with lots of ‘gooey’ and ‘slimy’ activities. The children enjoyed mark making in lots of different  solutions, including soil and mashed potato. We have enjoyed some fabulous stories such as ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, ‘Dear Zoo’ and we even went on a ‘Bear Hunt’.

The weather has been getting better and children are enjoying making the most of the outdoors even venturing onto the ‘big’ playground to take a turn on the adventure climbing frame and roundabout.

The children have enjoyed trips to Heaton Park, to see the animals and ’Booth’s Garden Centre’, where some of the children got to stroke and pet some rabbits and guiney pigs. We also saw some exotic fish and lots of birds. Early years were lucky enough to meet some baby chicks and carefully stroke them. We were reminded of our wonderful mummy’s when making our ‘Mothers day cards’ and found out our Teacher Sarah is going to be a mummy too! Early years are very excited about their ‘Easter Egg Hunt’ at the end of the week and lots of Easter  activities.

We hope you have an ‘egg-cellent’ holiday and hope to see you safe and well after the Easter break.
